Greater Columbus Convention Center Reactivation Strategy

WE ARE OPEN, WELCOME BACK 

Attendee and guest health and safety is the top priority of the ASM Global managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC). The GCCC has developed a comprehensive and sustainable cleaning, training, and safety guide to lead our reactivation efforts and facility operation moving forward. The GCCC REACTIVATION AND SARS-CoV-2 MITIGATION PLAN has been crafted and informed by ASM’s VenueShield® program.

VenueShield®ASM Global - Venue Shield Program

VenueShield is focused upon new environmental hygiene protocols and standards to meet evolving guest expectations and define the customer journey of the future as guests enter ASM Global’s 350 venues worldwide and our delivery of the highest standard of care. In creating this initiative, ASM Global has engaged and partnered with The Centers for Disease Control, National Institute of Health, United States Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

GLOBAL BIORISK ADVISORY COUNCIL CERTIFICATION

The GCCC has achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, GCCC has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention in the facility. 

To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, the Greater Columbus Convention Center was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures. With the GBAC STAR™ accreditation, the GCCC has:

  • Maintained a cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention program to minimize risks associated with infectious agents like COVID-19.
  • Established proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques and work practices to combat biohazards and infectious disease.
  • Employed cleaning professionals who are trained for outbreak and infectious disease preparation and response.

In our continued commitment to visitor safety and the guest experience, we’re thrilled for our partnership with Clorox to offer trusted protection for the live experience. Complimentary Clorox Disinfecting Wipes are available for guests to use throughout our facility.

COVID-19 ADVISORY 

You must follow all policies, including health and safety policies and posted instructions while at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By entering the Greater Columbus Convention Center, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

  • The GCCC venue itself is a cashless facility. This includes all GCCC operated concessions and all in-lane GCCC parking transactions. However, within the GCCC, there are individual contracted vendors and outlets who, at their discretion, may accept cash.
