(Columbus, June 6, 2017)  —  The fourth annual Global Exhibitions Day will be celebrated tomorrow at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center along with the facility’s hospitality partners.

The group will gather in support of exhibitions representatives traveling to Washington, D.C. to share with legislators the initiatives designed to sustain the continued growth of the industry. On this date, more than 100 industry representatives typically meet with federal legislators and other policy influencers to share facts and figures, generate awareness and build relationships in support of our industry as an economic catalyst.

This special day of observance was established to recognize and promote an industry producing more than 11,000 exhibitions annually throughout the United States and contributing significantly to the success of the nation’s free enterprise economy.

The GCCC staff celebration will include:

  • Social media postings about our favorite part of working in the exhibitions/events industry, favorite events at the GCCC and how events have impacted Columbus
  • A Wall of  #ExhibitionsDay posted in the North Atrium on which guests can write messages in support of the industry
  • Hotel and Short North Arts District partners joining the GCCC staff for a group photo at 1:30 p.m.
  • Goodale Garage fin lights illuminated in red, white and blue
  • A message appearing on the Battelle Grand exterior marquee supporting #Exhibitions Day

“As one of the largest convention centers in the SMG portfolio of properties and one of the busiest convention centers in North America, we host hundreds of exhibitions and events each year, generating a notable economic impact in our community,” said Greater Columbus Convention Center General Manager John R. Page.
