(Columbus, June 2, 2017) — The Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) SummerFest will bring 400 teams competing on 55 courts and attracting up to 12,000 people at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center on June 3-4.
“We’re very excited to be back. We love it here. Columbus is becoming the volleyball capital of the Midwest and it is a group effort,” said Zach Colston, JVA director of events. “The volleyball market is nuts right now. Every event we have across the board is sold out.”
The tournament will attract teams from throughout the country, including Chicago, Kansas City, Washington, D.C. and Ohio, Virginia and Florida.
JVA is the trade association for junior volleyball associations. Founded 10 years ago, the association includes more than 1,000 members representing all 50 states as well as four countries.
“The tournament has grown from 225 teams last year to 400 this year,” added Greater Columbus Convention Center General Manager John R. Page.
