(Columbus, April 21, 2017) — The Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA) 2017 National Technical Conference will return to the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) from April 23-25 and will be followed by its companion event, PMTS (Precision Machining Technology Show) 2017 from April 25-27. PMTS is one of the fastest-growing trade shows in the country.
“This is our largest show yet and we’ve grown each year. We expect more than 4,500 precision machining professionals to connect at PMTS 2017,” said Monte Guitar, director of technical programs for PMPA.
“Rethinking Talent & Technology” is the theme of the 2017 PMPA National Technical Conference, which will focus upon technical, quality and leadership development educational tracks.
Keynote speaker for the conference is Titan Gilroy, creator of the largest free computer numerical control (CNC) educational platform to train students, educators and machine shop owners around the world. He owns TITAN America MFG, a CNC machine shop based in California, and is the executive producer and star of the “TITANS of CNC” television series. His success arrived following a 16-year prison sentence for assault, redemption through Top Rank Boxing, and eventually a departure from boxing to join a CNC machine shop that led to his current passion.
PMPA, an international trade association founded in 1933, represents the precision machined products industry in North America and throughout the world. The industry consists of manufacturers producing highly engineered components to exacting requirements of customers. Utilizing steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, plastics, aerospace and medical-grade metallic alloys, manufacturers produce assemblies destined for automobiles, trucks, aircraft, medical devices, appliances, construction equipment and other products.
The accompanying Precision Machining Technology Show, presented by PMPA and co-presented by Production Machining, Modern Machine Shop, and Products Finishing, is a biennial event founded in 2001. PMTS will be open:
Exhibitors offer the latest equipment utilized in the production of high-volume precision parts, including grinding machines, rotary transfer machines, threading machines, cutting tools, treatment and recycling systems, software and a variety of CNC and computer-aided manufacture (CAM) machines.
Attending the show will be job shop owners, automotive managers, quality assurance professionals, machinists, purchasing managers, product designers, research and development managers, factory automation managers and more.
“A leading industry publication, Trade Show Executive, has named PMTS as one of the 50 fastest-growing trade shows held in the United States in 2013 and 2015,” said Greater Columbus Convention Center General Manager John R. Page. “The installation of the show itself is a major production.”
