2017 CENTRAL OHIO VETERANS STAND DOWN TO OFFER FREE ASSISTANCE TO AREA VETERANS ON OCTOBER 17

Who: All area military service veterans with valid DD214 identification cards

What: 2017 Central Ohio Veterans Stand Down

When: Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St., Exhibit Hall A

Why: Showing appreciation and caring for the service of area military veterans by providing “a hand up, not a hand out” to veterans in need of assistance

How: By providing proof of military service or details for service records to be verified, veterans will be able to receive a free lunch, parking, haircut, “nose to toes” medical consultations and screenings, counseling, legal services, new clothing, grooming products, groceries and visit representatives from more than 80 social service agencies.

Special note: 519 veterans and 250 volunteers participated in the 2016 event
