2019 EASTERN ELITE QUALIFIER AND REGIONAL OPEN TO BRING USA BOXING TO GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER

What: 2019 Eastern Elite Qualifier and Regional Open Championships
When: October 5-12, 2019
Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center Exhibit Hall D
Why: Tournament boxing, plus opportunity for the top two boxers in contested Olympic weight classes to qualify for the 2020 Olympic trials to be conducted in December 2019. USA Boxing’s mission is to promote, grow and sanction Olympic-style amateur boxing in the United States. The organization consists of more than 40,000 members.
How: A record 1,020 registered male and female boxers and 600 officials and coaches will be attending. There will be elite boxers age 18 and older, as well as youth, junior, intermediate, bantam and pee wee boxers (as young as age 8).
Additional details: Boxing may begin as early as 8 p.m. October 6 and continue through competition beginning at noon on October 12.
