9TH ANNUAL COLUMBUS WINTER BEERFEST TO WELCOME PUBLIC TO GCCCC THIS WEEKEND

(Columbus, February 8, 2019) – Got beer? The 9th Annual Columbus Winter Beerfest at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center will celebrate great craft beer from as close as the brewpub across the street and from around the country on February 8 and 9.

“We moved the event from January to February and we’re up in sales because of it,” explained Craig Johnson of event producer Festivals Unlimited. “We’ve been offering a free pretzel necklace-making station, too. Proceeds from the event will benefit I Have A Dream Rescue.org (IHADRO).”

IHADRO is a local, all-volunteer, non-profit organization of pit bill owners and advocates dedicated to responsible ownership of bully breeds and educating the public about the benefits of caring for these breeds and their ability to be loyal family pets.

Thousands of craft beer fans, hundreds of craft beer options, two evenings and one venue will combine to host the event, which offers day-of-event admission of $55 for regular admission at 8 p.m., $65 for early admission and $90 for connoisseur admission at 7 p.m. both nights.

The event continues to 11:30 p.m. each evening and includes 25 sample tickets and a souvenir acrylic mug. There are eight-ounce samples for early admission and five-ounce samples for regular admission. Designated driver tickets are $20 online/advance only and include $5 vouchers for food at any booth within the event, water and soft drinks. Connoisseur designated driver tickets are $35. Gluten-free selections will also be available.

Tickets are available at http://www.columbusbeerfest.com.

“Attending the Columbus Winter Beerfest at the GCCC has become quite a tradition for craft-beer enthusiasts and is a great way to sample new selections from among more than 100 participating breweries,” said GCCC General Manager John Page.
