WIZARD WORLD COMIC CON COLUMBUS CELEBRITY GUESTS TO ATTRACT THOUSANDS JUNE 8-10 TO GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER

(Columbus, June 5, 2018)  — Celebrity guests and dozens of vendors await pop culture and super hero fans June 8-10 at Wizard World Comic Con Columbus — Ohio’s longest-running and best-attended comic convention — at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC).

“This year, with Columbia Pictures, we began accepting original ideas for movies online, with pitch sessions scheduled June 8-9,” said Jerry Milani, Wizard World public relations manager. “In the two cities where we’ve heard pitches so far, Columbia was blown away by the ideas.”

 The event features movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, cosplay, science-fiction, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests, opportunities for autographs, photos and selfies, and more.

Show hours will be:

  • Friday, June 8 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission charges, pricing for special celebrity meet-and-greet sessions and celebrity guest appearance schedules are posted at www.wizardworld.com.  Kids 10 and under are admitted free with an adult paying admission. Advance general admission prices are:

  • Friday, June 8: $39.95
  • Saturday, June 9: $49.95
  • Sunday, June 10 $44.95
  • Three-Day Weekend Admission: $79.95

Guests are invited to wear their best costumes to capture the spirit of the event and enter the costume contest on Saturday evening.

“Wizard World produces the most popular comic convention tour in the country,” said GCCC General Manager John R. Page. “We invite show attendees to discover the super hero-themed artwork within our collection. They can also see how their face would look if they were 94 feet tall by entering the ‘As We Are’ sculpture’s photo booth and emerging to see their 14-foot-tall portrait displayed in LED lights.”
