Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center and Franklin Park
Why: Promoting the professional practice of arboriculture, awareness of the benefits of trees and learning about new developments in tree care, climbing techniques and equipment.
How: Events begin at the GCCC on August 4 with pre-conference sessions. Topics include tree biology, trees and cities, pests and diseases, urban forestry and more. Climbers’ Corner will be within the trade show on August 6-7.
Guests can also watch the International Tree Climbing Championship, considered the Olympics of tree climbing, through August 5 at Franklin Park to see which arborist wins the title of world champion. An affiliated free Arbor Fair family event at Franklin Park will offer fun tree climbing, limb walk, face painting, artisans & crafts, Ask an Arborist, food vendors and free entertainment and parking. The Arbor Fair weekend hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 4 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 5.
