(Columbus, January 9, 2020) — The Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC), managed by ASM Global, is hosting the return of three popular events that are open to the public.

Who: Ohayocon 20

What: 20th anniversary of an anime event attracting up to 23,000 guests

When: January 10-12, 2020

Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center and Hyatt Regency

Why: Anime celebration featuring “Celebrate in Style” theme

How: Concert by Kevin Woo and Diana Garnet, mixer, cosplay (costumed play) expo, cosplay lip sync, Fantasy Ball, Kimono & Tea, J-Fashion Jamboree, Ohayocon 20th Roast Celebration, Pajama Jam, scavenger hunt, Bad Dad Jokes Contest, karaoke and more Admission: Badges range from $20 up. Who: The Ohio Home + Remodeling Show

What: Second annual event with more than 175 exhibitors

When: January 10-12, 2020

Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center from noon to 9 p.m. January 10, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. January 11, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. January 12

Why: Thousands visited the 2019 edition of this event to see home improvement contractors, landscapers, home decorators and exhibits

How: Ty Pennington from “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will be on the main stage on Saturday, January 11 at 1 p.m. and Matt Fox of public television and HGTV notoriety will be master of ceremonies. Guests can visit the He Shed, She Shed display of personal getaway backyard retreats, Drab to Fab display, Recreations Outlet KidZone, Club Cambria full-service bar with snacks, Home Tweet Home birdhouse competition among local celebrities, Outdoor Living Oasis and more.

Admission: Regular price is $10 for ages 13 and older. Save $2 by buying tickets online at www.ohiohomeandremodelingshow.com. Seniors age 65 and older are admitted for $8. $5 admission for children ages 6-12, with children 5 and under admitted free with an adult paying admission. Military members, first responders, tradespeople and trade-school students are admitted free with valid identification on January 10.

Who: 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Breakfast

What: Celebrating the life and legacy Martin Luther King at the nation’s largest served breakfast honoring the civil rights leader

When: January 20, 2020. Doors open at 7 a.m. with the program beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center Exhibit Hall C

Why: Annual celebration dedicated to providing an uplifting message for all attendees

How: “Keep Moving Forward” theme with keynote speaker Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, United States Representative for Ohio’s Third Congressional District, named by Ebony Magazine as one of the 150 Most Powerful African-Americans in the United States. There will be musical performances and three youth speakers.
