HEROES & GAMES STORE TO SPONSOR GAME DAY AT THE CONVENTION CENTER ON DECEMBER 2

(Columbus, November 30, 2017)  — The inaugural Game Day at the Convention Center event will be held Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Room B-130 of the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC).

The event is sponsored by Heroes & Games, a merchant within the GCCC’s South Café & Marketplace. Registration begins at 9 a.m. for the event, which will feature two gaming tournaments open to players of all ages.

“Game Day at the Convention Center is a great way for new and experienced players to enjoy playing Realms Open Championship and Dragon Ball Super events,” said Heroes & Games co-owner Doug Simms.

The tournaments are:

  • Heroclix Realms Open Championship (ROC): Top players from throughout the state will compete for prizes. Smaller events will also be available for more casual players. All ROC events include TCG player point cards which can be redeemed in the $15,000 TCGplayer.com ROC Finals.  Heroclix is the top-selling collectible miniatures game in the world.
  • Dragon Ball Super TCG Tournament: Limited to 24 players, introductory learn-to-play demonstrations will be offered in addition to tournament play competing for prizes. The Dragon Ball Super Card Game features characters from a variety of Dragon Ball series.

“This event is a great way for one of our South Café & Marketplace merchants to further expand his brand beyond his storefront and provide a new opportunity for fans to play their favorite games and try new ones,” said GCCC General Manager John R. Page.

Players are admitted to the event free of charge.  There are nominal entry fees of $5 to $10 to compete in tournaments.
