VIVICA A. FOX TO HOST GIRLS NITE OUT FOR LAUGHS COMEDY SHOW AT GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER ON SEPTEMBER 1 – LABOR DAY WEEKEND

(Columbus, July 12, 2018) — Actress Vivica A. Fox will be the celebrity host for the first Columbus appearance of Girls Nite Out for Laughs, an evening of comedy from a women’s perspective, on Saturday, September 1 at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) on Labor Day weekend.

“We are so excited to host Vivica A. Fox and a star-studded comedy lineup in our facility for a great night of comedy by women for women,” said GCCC General Manager John R. Page. “We hope this will be just the first joint venture with David LLC in bringing comedy shows to the GCCC for women who love to laugh.”

Fox, an award-winning actress, producer, entrepreneur and author known for appearances on “Independence Day,” “Empire,” “Set It Off,” “Two Can Play That Game,” Kill Bill” and more, will bring to the stage a parade of female comedy and musical talent.

“This is the type of event you’d want to bring your sister, mother, aunt, girlfriend or girl next door to who needs a night out for fun and entertainment. It’s an event for women by women,” explained Fox.

The talent lineup includes:

  • Co-host Jasmine Sanders is an award-winning media personality on the air daily in 60 markets with comedian and TV star D.L. Hughley as co-host of the top-ranked, nationally syndicated “D.L. Hughley Show.” She is also a special correspondent on HLN’s “The Daily Share” and former co-host of BET/Centric TV’s lifestyle show, “Culture List.”

“Hey, Columbus, I can’t wait for me and the ladies to show you a great time…nothing tops laughter,” said Sanders.

  • Cocoa Brown is best known for her lead role in Tyler Perry’s “The Single Mom’s Club” and recurring and guest-starring roles on FX’s “American Crime Story,” Comedy Central’s “Secret Girlfriend,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Breaking Bad” and FOX’s “9-1-1” and a supporting role in “Ted 2.”
  • Kelly Kellz, a graduate of Central State University in Ohio, began her comedy career on a dare from her husband on Mother’s Day in 2009 to audition for “Bringing Laughter to The Soul.” Since then, she has worked with comedians ranging from Mike Epps to the legendary Dick Gregory at Caroline’s on Broadway.
  • Melanie Comarcho has appeared on the “Def Comedy Jam 25th Anniversary,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “The 33rd Annual NAACP Image Awards” and “Martin Lawrence Presents: 1st Amendment Standup.”
  • Just Nesh is featured on “Kevin Hart Presents: The Next Level” and is known for her high-energy and easily relatable nature combined with a smart and sharp sense of humor.

Special musical guest Yo-Yo of the Intelligent Black Woman’s Coalition and DJ Lucci of “The D.L. Hughley Show” will provide musical entertainment for the evening.

Doors will open on September 1 at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show with details for VIP day and after-parties to be announced soon.
